Sweet Sorrow Theatre
The project was to design the brand identity for a modern Shakespearean theatre, this included logo creation with feedback and revision, font selection to the brand and art direction. This design needed to be unique and fresh, not approaching Shakespeare in a cliché way. The purpose of this was to attract a new target audience to Shakespeare’s work by making it appear modern and visually appealing. This project was created in 2018 at North Metropolitan TAFE, previously known Central Institute of Technology.
The alternative logotype creates this new perspective both literally and figuratively which is how the theatre wants to represented to their potential audience. The website was made to be sustainable, via the use of colour and single-page design, this was made in Adobe XD. The posters were painted digitally by myself and the layout was then composed in InDesign. The Macbeth's poster illustration combines a skull and crown into one, and A Midsummer’s Night Dream's poster illustration has the silhouette four lovers faces in the 'fairy’s' wings. Both these illustrations tie deeply into their respective stories.
